Performance Parts / Tuning
There’s nothing we like more than making scooters go faster. We are happy to show you performance options for your scooter we keep in stock. We place orders from our parts distributors every week and we will also install parts you purchased yourself and brought to us. Tuning services can be difficult to accurately estimate how long they will take but our goal is to make your scooter run its best without breaking the bank so you will look forward to using our tuning services for your next upgrade.
Be aware: installing performance parts can void the manufacturer’s warranty and shorten the engine lifespan of your scooter. Your scooter may require additional parts or tuning services to optimize performance.
Accessory Installation
We offer free installation services for accessories added to your scooter at the time of purchase…excluding electrical accessories or anything that requires wiring. You also receive a 10% discount on those accessories at that time. After that…it’ll be at our regular rate $120/hour.
Resurrection / Rehabilitation
We know it’s hard to let go of that scooter rotting away in the backyard or in a dusty corner of your garage. You’ve kept it this long…maybe it’s time to bring it into our service department and let our technicians breathe some life back into your old friend. Rest assured…we are picky about the project scooters we take on and we’ll be the first to tell you when your money is better spent on a different scooter. If your scooter has been left unattended for a year or more it’s a safe bet that you will need to budget for $200+ on the low end.
We can provide before and after pictures upon request to cherish for generations to come or as a reminder of what not to do in the future.
Winterizing / Storage
We don’t have much of a winter season here in Austin but if you plan on parking or storing your scooter for more than a month you may want to consider having us drain the fuel tank and clean out your carb/throttle body. A battery tender and a cover are also great steps to take to make sure your scooter is ready to go when you get back in town. Winterizing services start at $60 (half an hour labor).
Chinese / Grey Market Scooter
We are extremely selective on maintenance and
repairs on Chinese scooters (scooters where you don’t recognize the brand and read nothing but terrible reviews about on the internet). You should NOT buy one of these scooters and if you have one you should seriously limit what you are willing to spend on it to keep it running and almost safe…almost because we aren’t sure if they ever were safe for the road or even could be. Estimated cost of keeping it on the road with almost no level of reliability = more than its value…even if it was free.
Be aware: if your Chinese scooter was given to you by a friend…you should reevaluate your friendship. The gift may have been an attempt to sabotage your relationship
Lemon Check / Pre-Purchase Inspection
We do NOT offer a “Lemon Check” or provide pre-purchase inspections for a used scooter you are thinking about purchasing. Instead we recommend you bring the scooter candidate in for a basic tune-up or oil change service. When any of our technicians performs any kind of service or repair on any scooter, that technician looks over the entire scooter checking for any and all potential problems, adjustments, wear items or recommended services based on the scooters age and condition. Our goal isn’t to pile on the services…we want to be thorough and we’d be so embarrassed if you have an issue with your scooter after just having us service it and tell you it’s road ready.
Tx Vehicle Safety Inspection
We try to have at least one technician that is licensed as a TX vehicle safety inspector available at all times but we prioritize the service and repairs already underway. You can bring in your scooter any time for an inspection but we may ask you to drop it off until our inspector finished up the job he/she is currently working on. We will need to see your proof of insurance coverage to inspect your scooter. Once inspected you have up to 60 days to renew your registration and if you prefer to renew on line you may have to wait up to 48 hours after your inspection for the data to update to the registrar’s database.
